It illustrates the manifold opportunities that mountain regions present for such an economy at global, regional, national and local levels. As well as, highlights the importance and diversity of appropriate, well-conceived, and effective institutions for promoting sustainable development in mountain regions. Examples cover the entire institutional and geographical range from global to local.
